We were passing through Sioux City, and ate at El Tapatio by chance, simply walking in very late in the evening. The staff were obviously a little disappointed to see a group of five come in so late, but even so they were very friendly and accomodating. The service was quick and friendly, and it wasn't long before we had our food.
And Oh, my goodness, was the food good! It was cooked to perfection, rich and delicious. My steak was just right. My grilled shrimp were...well, I have never tasted shrimp like it, they were fantastic. My wife and daughter had this hot-pot dish that was cooked and presented in these large, very hot lava-rock bowls, and WOW, what flavor.
And the price was extremely reasonable.
I seldom write reviews, but oh my, if you're passing through Sioux City, or you live there but have never tried El Tapatio, DO NOT PASS IT UP!
